~ Anyone for Pickled Eel ? ~
.
.
The bread was intended for the ducks ... somebody neglected to inform the eels who made short work of devouring it all before nibbling on the ducks legs for dessert !

A short while back... circa early 1960s actually... as a trusty member of the RNZAF Air Scouts at the time... I recall going on Scout Camps where we caught similar eels in the pristine icy water creeks in the foothills of the Kaikoura Mountain Range in Marlborough Province. This is over in Aotearoa, the Land of the Long White Cloud. We found the best way to cook an eel was to chop off the head & tail, clean it and toss the rest of it into a dixie and boil it over an open campfire. With just a little imagination it tasted very similar to crayfish !

PS : How did you get the eel to blow bubbles Andy ?
