~ Moving Targets ~

I made an interesting discovery today ... perhaps one of the most difficult, non-obliging and unpredictable subjects to photograph would have to be the dragonfly ... I have to take a Panadol now and have a lie down ....

Agree on the choice of subject and the difficulty of shooting them. If you're really, really still they sometimes hover for you but they also have the ability to dart off at a split-second's notice at what appears to be a million miles per hour ! To capture the movement it's worth experimenting with electronic flash in a low light setting so the flash output becomes the prime light source.

Thanks LG ... I'll ask said dragonfly to wait next time while I set up ! ... Good suggestion and I appreciate it ... still so much to learn ! :)

Hummingbird Anon ? ... fortunately as we don't have any of them here (that I've seen anyway), it's not a problem I need to address, but I can only imagine that would be horrific !
