~ Self Portrait - The Sequel ~

.

Someone once told me that I was no oil-painting ... well, thanks to PhotoShop, now I AM ! ... Pic was taken for a local newspaper press release via the trusty old Pentax 'point-and-click' camera mounted on the tripod. The tripod is heavy duty, the Pentax is not much bigger than a credit card ... yes, it looked extremely silly, hence the smirk in the pic :)

Back to your initial posting Andy. The trusty old Pentax did well so don't bin it eh ! Always good to have a spare as a back-up plan anyway. I like the oil painting effect. In this instance the foliage works well. There was a time ( in my recent youth no less ) when to achieve this effect one had to arm oneself with a canvas, a few brushes, oil paints, linseed etc. and rally forth !
